Why IAQ Resources Canada?

The reasons are simple:
  • As housing practitioners, you've told us that you want to increase your indoor air quality (IAQ) expertise so that you can do your jobs better, smarter and more cost effectively. We'll help you.

  • In our years of experience, we've seen the topic of indoor air quality go from being virtually unrecognized to being a huge issue that affects people's health, comfort and the durability of their homes. Many times, the critical links between IAQ and housing durability are overlooked. Consumers need information. As professionals, you need the knowledge and skills to serve your clients efficiently and effectively.

  • While consumer interest and concern about IAQ has increased, we've also seen people making uninformed choices that have created serious durability and health problems, sometimes generating lawsuits. Better technical choices and better communication help to prevent costly disputes and direct all resources toward solving problems. Ultimately, this results in financial benefits for both you and your clients.

  • The IAQ field is evolving quickly. We've seen the quantity of information increase dramatically, but not always the quality. We screen the current information and develop training and information packages that are written in direct language and provide you with practical strategies.

  • In North America and Western Europe, we're seeing housing practitioners struggling to balance IAQ, energy efficiency, good building science and cost. We have the knowledge, resources and skills to help.

Our Roots

We're proud of our Canadian housing roots. We believe that Canadian housing products and services are the best in the world because they're based on solid building science research and demonstrated long-term results for quality, energy efficiency and indoor air quality. We've “grown up” in the industry and been key players as the “house as a system”, R-2000 housing, Canada's Super E™ housing export program, and training for residential IAQ investigators has evolved.

Who We Are

Julie Levi

Julie Levi is a training specialist, communications professional and company owner. In addition to overseeing the company's daily activities, she uses her education, communication and business skills to create specialized products, services and training for housing practitioners in the private and public sectors. Through many years in housing and education, Julie has developed an excellent rapport with a broad variety of IAQ, housing and education professionals across North America and around the world. Her ongoing networking directly benefits all IAQ Resources Canada clients.

Julie's career in Canadian housing began in the late 1980s as her professional interests took on a very personal element when she developed severe health problems related to her living environment. This led to research, products, services and training programs about Canadian housing practices, indoor air quality, healthy housing, energy efficient housing and housing export. Examples of her activities included projects for the R-2000 program, the Super E™ program, and coordinating a national indoor air quality training program for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.

In more recent years, Julie has expanded her knowledge and expertise as an adult educator, focussing on efficient, affordable, effective and appropriate delivery models. Her educational credentials include a Masters of Distance Education (Athabasca University), an Advanced Graduate Diploma in Distance Education [Technology] (Athabasca University), a Trainer of Adults Certificate (St. Francis Xavier University) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Goddard College). She is also a Certified Blackboard Instructor.
